India’s Ringg Raises $10M From Peak XV for Voice AI Agents

Indian voice AI startup Ringg has raised $10 million from Peak XV Partners, extending its Series A round to a total of $15.5 million, according to a report from TechCrunch. The company had previously raised $5.5 million in the round earlier this year.

Ringg, which processes 20 million call attempts a month, began as a text-to-speech startup called DesiVocal before pivoting to build voice AI agents for enterprises after finding it too costly to train its own speech models at scale. Fintech company Cred became its first customer, and the startup has since signed clients including Flipkart, Practo, Groww, and Policybazaar, TechCrunch reported.

Co-founder Siddharth Tripathi told TechCrunch the company is shifting away from high-volume, low-complexity tasks like outbound calling and lead qualification, which he described as not sticky and prone to price competition. Instead, Ringg is targeting more complex workflows such as appointment booking for healthcare clinics, abandoned-cart recovery for e-commerce, and KYC checks for fintech apps. Its voice agent now operates across 1,200 clinics for healthcare app Practo, according to the report.

While voice calls still account for more than 70% of Ringg’s business, the company has expanded into chat, WhatsApp, and browser-based support automation for clients including Shell. Tripathi said Ringg aims to position itself as a platform for outcome-driven agents rather than strictly voice agents.

Most of Ringg’s customers are based in India, with some in the Middle East and the U.S. Rather than selling directly to American companies, the startup plans to partner with global capability centers in India that multinationals use for back-office and support work, per TechCrunch.

Peak XV principal Rishen Kapoor told TechCrunch that Ringg’s origins as a research lab building its own models give it the technical depth to handle complex enterprise workflows such as merchant onboarding and multi-tier support with consistency.

Ringg has 40 employees, with more than 15 hired in the past three months, and competes in a crowded Indian voice AI field that includes model makers Sarvam and Smallest.ai, orchestration startups Bolna and Blue Machines, and finance-focused players Gnani and Arrowhead.
